The Cat Who Collected Stars

🌸 The Cat Who Collected Stars 🌙

In the quiet village of Maplewood, there lived a tiny gray kitten named Miso who believed the stars were made of dreams.

Every night, while the village slept under quilts and lullabies, Miso would tiptoe onto the roof of her human’s house with a mason jar tied around her neck. She’d sit patiently, eyes wide and whiskers twitching, waiting for a star to fall.

One evening, as the moon hung low like a sleepy eye in the sky, a star actually did fall — slowly, like a feather — and landed softly in Miso’s jar. It didn’t burn, didn’t shimmer, just glowed warmly like the coziest bedtime story. Miso purred in awe.

She didn’t stop there.

Night after night, Miso collected fallen stars. Some were shaped like little hearts, others hummed gentle lullabies. She stored them under the floorboard near her bed and whispered goodnight to each one.

Then one winter, the village power went out. No lights, no heat, just worried faces and cold toes.

But Miso had a plan.

She padded softly from house to house, star-jar swinging from her neck, placing one glowing dream-star in each window. The houses filled with golden light. People smiled. Children giggled. Someone started playing a violin. And in that moment, even the cold forgot it was supposed to be bitter.

From then on, Miso wasn’t just a kitten. She was Maplewood’s Little Dreamkeeper.

And if you ever visit, just look up at the rooftops. You might see a gray puffball with a jar, still waiting, still believing.
